The Legislative Library serves the research and information needs of the NYS Senate, the NYS Assembly, and legislative staff. In this dynamic role, you will:
- Provide professional library services by performing legislative reference work, including providing legal research assistance to legislators and staff, utilizing the library's print and electronic resources
- Assist library visitors on a ready reference basis by locating materials, answering questions, and assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of library materials
- Other duties and special projects as assigned Minimum QualificationsTo be considered, you must have:
- A master's degree in library science or information science from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited institution
- Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong customer service skills
- The flexibility and willingness to learn in a changing environment The ideal candidate will also have:
- Experience on law library or library information center with a significant legal collection
- A law degree from an accredited law school
