Librarian III - $5333.00 - $5433.00 a month Job Summary Performs highly complex (senior level) consultative and training assistance work for libraries in the TexShare Consortium, a statewide consortium of public, academic, and other libraries. Coordinates library participation in TexShare programs, including the TexShare Databases and TexShare Card programs. Coordinates, delivers, and assists in the evaluation of TexShare outreach and training activities. Coordinates activities of assigned TexShare working groups. Participates in the evaluation and selection of electronic resources for TSLAC's resource sharing programs. Assists statewide resource sharing manager with planning and development of TexShare services, programs, policies, and procedures. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment. Essential Tasks Manage library participation in TexShare programs, including outreach, recruitment, onboarding, and membership tracking and support Coordinate and deliver training and marketing resources for TexShare programs Provide support and consultation services to Texas librarians and library staff by email/phone and in person/virtually regarding library electronic resources, including resource implementation, use, and promotion Coordinate and deliver presentations about TexShare programs at conferences, regional library meetings, and other stakeholder gatherings in person and virtually Coordinate the activities of the TexShare Card Working Group and assist statewide resource sharing manager with coordination of TexShare Advisory Board activities Attend work regularly in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies Comply with all applicable agency policies and procedures, including safety and standards of conduct Other duties as assigned Librarian IV - $5985.00 - $6178.00 a month Job Summary Performs advanced (senior level) consultative and training assistance work for libraries in the TexShare Consortium, a statewide consortium of public, academic, and other libraries. Librarian III - $5333.00 - $5433.00 a month Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in library or information science from an accredited program Two years of professional work experience in libraries Experience managing or coordinating the use of electronic resources in a library Experience developing and/or delivering training Experience developing outreach and promotional materials Experience providing direct customer service/support in person/virtually and by email/phone Experience entering data into/retrieving data from spreadsheets, databases, software programs, or cloud-based applications Preferred Qualifications Experience training on the use of library electronic resources to library staff and patrons/students Work experience with different types of libraries, including academic libraries, public libraries, special libraries, or cooperative library systems or networks Experience administering e-resource authentication systems (EZproxy, federated authentication, etc.) Experience evaluating library electronic resources for accessibility and usability Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to collect and analyze data, formulate conclusions, develop procedures and guidelines, design and conduct evaluations Ability to work cooperatively with members of the resource sharing team and other TSLAC staff to support resource sharing programs Proficiency with office productivity tools such as Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to establish goals and objectives Ability to speak before groups, to conduct training and planning meetings Ability to interpret and explain statutes, administrative rules, and grant guidelines Ability to work collaboratively and collegially on a team Environmental/Physical Conditions Normal office work environment and may have exposure to dust and environmental allergens consistent with normal business activities and human contact. Mostly sedentary in nature but may involve moving; standing; pulling and pushing kneeling, stooping and bending; performing tasks requiring fine motor skill and coordination to safely move items weighing up to 20 pounds. Must be able to work extended periods at a computer. May require working extended hours and some evenings and weekends as needed. Normal cognitive abilities including the ability to learn, recall and apply certain practices and policies and interpret data. Travel (20%), some overnight, will be required to conduct training, speak publicly and attend meetings. Other Requirements Submit complete undergraduate and graduate college transcripts. Submit portfolio of writing samples and other relevant work products (e.g., presentations, outreach materials, newsletters, articles, white papers) Applicants invited to interview will make a 15-minute presentation on an assigned topic.
