Job Description

Description The Moorpark City Library is recruiting temporary, part-time interns to support the Lunch at the Library program by assisting with summer meal distribution and providing learning and enrichment activities before and after designated mealtimes.
Duration of Internship:
5 weeks (June 29, 2026 through July 31, 2026)

Hourly Rate:
$16.90 PRIMARY
RESPONSIBILITES
Provides customer service in-person and by phone; answers basic questions about hours, services, programs, and locating materials Promotes and supports Summer Reading and Lunch at the Library, including patron registration and distributing program materials/incentives Assists with program and event logistics, including set-up, room supervision as assigned, and clean-up/breakdown Maintains cleanliness and readiness of the community room and kitchenette; completes daily inspection forms Collects and records program participation statistics and completes related logs/forms Responds to routine patron concerns using good judgment and de-escalation skills; escalates issues to library staff as needed Performs related duties as assigned Requirements Customer service experience in a public-facing environment (library experience is a plus) Basic computer skills (email, Word/Docs, spreadsheets) and ability to learn library systems Strong communication skills and professional public desk/phone etiquette Ability to work independently and as part of a team; dependable and respectful Ability to follow procedures, maintain accurate records, and work safely Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs. and assist with room set-up/clean-up Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
