SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Library Educational Assistants and other staff members in Educational Technology (EdTech)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
1. Master's degree in library/media program that combines library and information science, educational communications, technology, and curriculum, or Master's degree or specialized coursework in technology preferred
Experience:
1. 3-5 years' successful teaching or library media center coordinator experience 2. Practical experience working in a general educational setting in a technical environment, including the use of educational hardware and software applications, Windows and Macintosh environments, and knowledge of current industry standards 3. Effective teaching experience and/or training in a technology-rich, K-12 environment preferred
Certificates/Licenses:
1. Valid Colorado teaching professional certificate with endorsement for library/media or educational technology 2. Education Administrator or Principal Licensure preferred

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for administering print, non-print, and digital media, including professional materials, assistive technology and equipment, and other instructional technology equipment 2. Prepares and manages an annual budget for Educational Technology, and also for District audiovisual materials and equipment purchase or repair, and directs expenditures from this budget 3. Establishes and manages efficient procedures that allow for staff input in previewing, purchasing, and evaluating new Educational Technology materials and equipment 4. Organizes and manages an efficient system of processing, cataloging, distributing, and retrieving Educational Technology materials 5. Plans, organizes, implements, and supervises the necessary library media services provided at the District level (Courier, magazine subscriptions, digital subscriptions, library rebinds and book repair, Follett Destiny, maintenance and technical support, materials cataloging for all elementary and secondary libraries upon request, Reconsideration Committee, book challenges, information literacy/technology training) 6. Develops and maintains positive relationships with other organized library services and educational technology organizations and at local, state, and national levels 7. Assists librarians and elementary library, STEM/makerspace, and computer lab aides with training, ordering, and maintaining programs, materials, and facilities 8. Supervises the cataloging of books, media, and equipment to promote resource sharing through the District online library catalog and asset management system 9. Meets with various book vendors to provide automation specifications and facilitate MARC record transfers for library book cataloging 10. Assists in evaluating Educational Technology staff and library educational assistants as requested 11. Organizes and manages an efficient system to handle District AV and STEM/makerspace equipment and services 12. Consults with staff regarding the availability of equipment to support multimedia and livestreaming productions 13. Consults with staff regarding the selection and implementation of educational technology resources such as software, hardware, and services at school sites 14. Keeps informed of new developments and trends in the fields of library and media services, instructional technology, and multimedia instruction 15. Completes federal, state, and District tasks, surveys, and reports 16. Serves as a consultant to principals and teachers in materials, services, and training related to library/media and instructional technology 17. Facilitates and assists in ordering AV media and equipment, library materials, instructional software, and other digital and print materials for schools 18. Assists in the support of best teaching practices by ordering, processing, cataloging, and uploading materials in all relevant systems 19. Coordinates, records, and processes multimedia and livestreaming events for the District 20. Develops and maintains a resource infrastructure for the Library Learning Center Coordinators (LLCCs) and Library Learning Center EAs (LLCEAs) 21. Develops and maintains a curriculum map of information literacy standards that are tied to current District, state, and national standards 22. Develops and maintains online resources for LLCCs and LLEAs to use with teachers and students 23. Orders, processes, and catalogs materials that will support the ongoing professional development efforts of the Instructional Practices 24. Support current library organizational structures and the move to more effective library organizational structures 25. Works with all libraries and library personnel as they transition from traditional libraries to Library Learning Centers 26. Models an effective understanding and respect for diversity and inclusion 27. Incorporates legal rights and due process for children with special needs 28. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with co-workers, and interact with colleagues in a professional manner 29. Demonstrates a positive attitude toward change 30. Performs such other tasks as may, from time to time, be assigned
