Duties Supervise and engage children during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote learning and development in toddlers, infants, and preschoolers Assists patrons in using library services, equipment, reference materials, electronic databases and software Answers reference and technical questions Collaborate with team members to plan and execute classroom activities that stimulate curiosity and creativity Processes interlibrary loans and reserve requests Assists with coordinating department activities with library events Assists with maintaining department files, records, indexes and statistics Performs on-going examination, weeding and upgrading Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested Denotes an essential function of the job Skills Organize, priorit1ze•and coordinate multiple tasks Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices Certification or training in first aid and CPR to ensure immediate response during emergencies Develop and implement library programs Establish a rapport with children and their caregivers Maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and co-workers
