Job Description

Hiring Department Library Job Description The Library Information Specialist position will perform the following circulation and access services duties: Check materials in/out Assist library patrons with inquiries or other needs that arise Monitor and enforce library rules Maintain a safe environment for patrons and library staff Implement emergency procedures and protocols as needed in coordination with the library security officers and campus police Manage stacks maintenance (re-shelving, shelf-reading, weeding, and assessing damaged materials), ensuring collection health, space for growth, and a user-friendly browsing experience Responsible for general supervision of the library building during daytime hours, including opening the building Monday through Friday Submit work orders to the Facilities Management Department for building maintenance repairs or other issues Other duties as assigned Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor applicants for this position for employment visas. Shift 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Preferred Qualifications Experience in libraries. Experience supervising student workers.
Anticipated Hiring Range Salary Range:
$17.40-$23.85
