Library Assistant - Part Time Charlotte Mecklenburg Library "Follow your calling, Find your career" Please apply by 6/5/26 Pay rate: $20.00 per hour 19 hours per week - Schedules will include some nights and weekends

Davidson Library 119 South Main Street, Davidson, N.C., 28036 Position Summary The Part-time Library Assistant delivers a high level of quality library services ensuring the provision of value-added experiences for all customers and performs routine tasks in support of the library. Charlotte Mecklenburg Library is one of America's leading urban public libraries, serving one of the country's great emerging metropolitan areas in North Carolina. Our library system serves a community of approximately one million citizens in the city of Charlotte and the towns of Matthews, Pineville, Mint Hill, Davidson, Cornelius, and Huntersville - all located in Mecklenburg County. Essential Functions Promote the library's collection and services Perform circulation activities Provide service desk coverage Provide materials to appropriate bins for transfer Provides research assistance to customers Utilize integrated library systems software Assisting patrons at several service points Assisting patrons on various library policies, procedures, and processes Perform shelving and weeding duties
Minimum Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of one year of customer service experience including library or retail.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent Combination of relevant education and relevant experience accepted? Yes Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of integrated library systems software Bilingual Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Alpha-numeric sorting systems Various library systems Telephone etiquette Skills Technology adeptness Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent time management skills with attention to detail

Work Standards:
