Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities Under the direction of the Customer Service Supervisor, the Page position is responsible for shelving all library materials, sorting and filing, and the overall tidiness of each Community Library location. Performs other duties as required. File and Restock Materials Shelves all library materials alphabetically, numerically, and alphanumerically based on the Dewey Decimal System. Runs library materials through the staff induction system. Alerts supervisor of any issues. Searches the Community Library's shelf locations and retrieves books to fill customers' requests. Prepares requested items for customer pickup. Packs and unpacks materials into boxes. Cleans tables and straightens up library materials on a regular basis. Performs other tasks to keep the collections in order, including shelf revising. May occasionally answer directional questions. Process and Mend Materials Maintains and processes library materials. Identifies damaged items. Assists with mending library materials including preparing and affixing labels and repairing minor issues. Position Information Flexible schedule with a maximum of 17 hours per week Monday-Saturday. The rate of pay for this position is $17.00 per hour. This is a non-union position. Part-time positions do not offer any medical or health benefits. Education and Experience/Qualifications No prior experience required. On-the-job training provided. Must have strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Must be able to sort and file alphabetically, numerically, and alphanumerically. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently. Must have a genuine passion for making our materials accessible to our customers.
