The Assistant Manager of AMSTI assists the Manager with planning professional development sessions, school support cycles, and training teachers. Coordinates and disburses kit materials to teachers. Provides follow-up support services to teachers and schools who participate in the Alabama Math, Science, Technology Initiative (AMSTI) project.Additional Department Summary:
Assists the AMSTI Manager with financial, staff and site management, and programmatic responsibilities, including coordinating and facilitating professional development sessions, school support cycles and training educators, as well as coordinating and disbursing kit materials to teachers. Assists in developing and providing follow-up support services to educators and schools who participate in the Alabama Math, Science, Technology Initiative (AMSTI) project.Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in education, math, or science and two (2) years of K-12 education experience. Teacher Certificate issued by the Alabama State Department of Education.Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.Skills and Knowledge:
Basic knowledge of keyboarding, personal computers usage, and standard application software (word processing, spreadsheet and presentation programs). Strong interpersonal skills in a professional setting.Preferred Qualifications:
Five (5) years of experience in K-12 education and two (2) years experience as an AMSTI Education Specialist.Background Investigation Statement:
