Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas (UA Cossatot) began in DeQueen, Arkansas in 1975 as an Arkansas Vocational-Technical School, designed to provide relevant workforce training for four counties in southwest Arkansas. Summary of Job Duties:
UA Cossatot is seeking a qualified Welding Instructor for its daytime program in De Queen. The instructor will teach SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes, along with structural and pipe fitting and the NCCER Core Curriculum. Responsibilities include delivering instruction in both classroom and shop settings; maintaining and submitting accurate records and reports in a timely manner; and evaluating student performance through observation of hands-on skills. The instructor will collaborate with other welding faculty and adhere to all UA Cossatot policies and procedures. This is a full-time, on-campus position requiring approximately 30 hours per week, typically Monday through Thursday, with occasional Friday meetings. Travel between campuses may be required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in the welding industry
  • Proficient in SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW (a test will be administered by our department)
  • Become a NCCER Certified Instructor
  • Pass background check
  • Instruction of both secondary and post-secondary students
  • Engage with industry to teach in-demand skills
Additional Information:
Base salary of $44,000, with opportunities for additional compensation through teaching secondary students, plus an excellent benefits package that includes health, dental, and life insurance; short- and long-term disability coverage; a retirement plan with employer matching; paid sick leave; and educational assistance for employees and their dependents.
