Aug 3, 2026 Job Description Working under the direction of the Director of Secondary Mathematics, The instructional math coach will promote access and equity for all students by providing direct instructional support to middle school, junior high and/or high school teachers, designing and implementing comprehensive professional development, and providing direct support for students who are achieving below grade level expectation.
Job Description:
Provide direct support to mathematics teachers through instructional mentoring, the strategic use of planning, data gathering and reflection processes, and coaching skills/tools Plan and facilitate mathematics professional development focused on mathematics content and pedagogy to support the teaching and learning of mathematics. This includes AR Math QuEST as well as additional state initiatives that impact mathematics. Produce asynchronous professional learning content. Provide instructional support through coaching cycles, co-teaching, job-embedded professional development, and teacher planning partner for the implementation of Fayetteville Public School District curricula and resources. Support collaborative data discussions using protocols that inform classroom instruction, inform the alignment of resources to enhance student performance, and focus on student feedback that results in student action. Work collaboratively with school-based administration and staff to design mathematics improvement goals for students and teachers, which inform the overall School Improvement Plan. Participate in job-embedded professional learning to enhance knowledge for mathematics teaching, knowledge of mathematics pedagogy and intervention, and to grow the professional practice to provide high-quality mathematics interventions. Provide targeted student intervention support by pushing into core classes and monitoring student progress. Engage in professional growth opportunities to improve and enhance their mathematical knowledge for teaching, their knowledge of mathematical pedagogy, and their capacity for effective leadership and attend additional training as required. Assist in developing, selecting, and managing intervention resources to support the FPS Mathematics curricula. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Secondary Mathematics.
