Job Description

Our Math Tutoring Center is looking for a self-motivated/starter with prior experience in leading teams. This person will be responsible for coordinating day to day operations associated with running a smooth learning center. Online and in-center training will be provided. The Lead Instructor supports operating the day-to-day functions of a center and is part of the leadership in the center assuming responsibility for the center needs. Lead Instructor takes ownership of the quality of the instruction being provided by our team of math instructors and is empowered as a leader to take appropriate actions when necessary. The lead Instructor joins the instructional staff in the team-teaching environment, providing math instruction to students. Must have prior experience in teaching or tutoring, mentoring students and other instructors, and be able to accommodate afternoon hours Monday - Thursday and Saturday mornings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Positively interact and engage with students by building rapport, establishing trust, addressing any inquiries, and taking the time to get to know them. Moderate learning classroom, instructing students, and providing other tutors with guidance and coaching on applying Mathnasium best practices to provide an optimal learning experience for the students. Administer educational math assessments to diagnose learning gaps in order to create learning plans for students. Assign and perform center administrative tasks along with other team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
College graduate with a degree in mathematics, sciences, engineering, communications, or teaching Strong team leadership and coaching/mentoring experience Strong foundational math skills and comfortable teaching up to Algebra 2+ Prior working experience in a leadership role with teaching or tutoring Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Excellent communication & organizational skills Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate tasks Excellent PC, MS Office skills, and data entry skills Strong work ethic, punctual, detail-oriented, and reliable Must be available to work 2 PM-7PM Monday - Thursday, and Saturday from 9AM - 1 PM.

$19.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
