QUALIFICATIONS A.
Credential
  • General Secondary, Standard Secondary, or Ryan Single Subject in subject area B. Education
  • Bachelor's Degree
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direction of the principal/designee, the classroom teacher shall develop in the student the skills, knowledge, concepts, generalizations, principles, appreciation, and attitudes that are necessary to meet the district goals and the Performance Objectives of the course.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A.
Classroom 1. Individual student needs will be assessed. 2. Goals and objectives shall be established that address student needs. 3. Lesson plans and appropriate instructional aids will be developed. 4. Basic attendance accounting and grade reporting will be performed. 5. Classroom environment a. Classroom environment conducive to learning will be maintained. b. Good citizenship and communication skills will be encouraged. 6. All courses will be taught within the framework of the Performance Objectives approved by the District. 7. Methods a. Strategies and behaviors will be flexible and adjusted to the situation and student needs. b. Respect for the student will be demonstrated. 8. Evaluation a. The student's progress in the subject area will be evaluated. b. The student will be made aware of the procedure used in the evaluation of his/her progress. c. Student feedback to evaluate effectiveness of instruction will be utilized. 9. Availability for out-of-class individual student assistance will be demonstrated. B. Curriculum and Instruction 1. A positive role will be established in the development and evaluation of the subject-area curriculum. 2. Professional competency in the subject area will be maintained. C. Interpersonal Relations 1. Cooperative efforts in working with staff toward the resolution of mutual concerns will be demontrated. 2. Positive interaction with students, support staff, colleagues, parents, community, and private organizations will be established. D. Related Duties 1. Porfessional responsibility to support and supervise co-curricular activities will be acknowledged. 2. Participation in departmental functions, such as encouraging departmental-related student activities/organizations, completing inventories, maintaining student records, and requisitioning supplies and materials, will be effectively provided. 3. The distribution, instruction in the appropriate use, and collection of nonconsumable supplies, materials, and equipment will be made with the proper notification when damages occur. 4. Other related duties as assigned will be performed. E. State Laws and District Policies/Regulations The teacher will uphold the state laws, district policies/regulations, and local school regulations adopted to meet state and district policies.
