Intervention Specialist- Math
Secondary Job Description:
The Secondary Math Intervention Specialist holds a Colorado teaching license and is endorsed by the state of Colorado in grades 7-12 mathematics. Works with 7th- 12th grade students who require strategic and intensive intervention.
MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
- Mostly clean and comfortable.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional lifting five (5) to ten (10) pounds
- Frequent sitting

Responsibilities:
Communicate and collaborate with classroom teachers regarding alignment between classroom instruction and interventions. Maintain positive communication between school staff, parents, and students. Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects using formal and informal assessment data obtained from students. Demonstrate exemplary classroom math instructional practices and possess a deep understanding of math practices to improve student achievement results and close achievement gaps. Create a learning environment and research-based program of study that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Provide direct instruction to students identified as eligible for math intervention in individual, and/or small group settings. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by DCSD policy.Certifications:

Hard to Hire Licensed position salaries are set based on one of three salary schedules; General, Hard to Hire, and Specialist/Extremely Hard to Hire.
