Teaching Full Job Description Job Description:
Somerset Academy Central Miramar is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School Math Teacher to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mathematics and a commitment to helping middle school students build strong math skills and confidence. Responsibilities include delivering engaging instruction to students in grades 6-8, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting the academic growth of all learners.
Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and implement effective math lessons aligned with state and district standards. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of all students. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, technology, and hands-on activities to enhance student understanding. Assess, monitor, and document student progress using formative and summative assessments. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and grades. Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth. Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues regarding student progress and classroom activities. Collaborate with fellow teachers and participate in grade-level or subject-area teams to support student achievement and school goals. Attend professional development, staff meetings, and school events as required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (required). Valid Florida teaching certification for middle grades math (required). Previous experience teaching math at the middle school level is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills. Commitment to supporting all students and fostering a positive, growth-oriented classroom culture.
