Math and Team Sports Teacher Orlando Science High School is committed to providing a high-quality STEM education in an intellectually nurturing environment. We are seeking a qualified and motivated Math and Team Sports Teacher to join our dedicated faculty for the 2026-2027 school year. Job Summary Teachers are responsible for providing high-quality instruction and academic support to students in the classroom and other assigned areas. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans, delivering instruction aligned with curriculum standards, maintaining an effective classroom environment, collaborating with colleagues and administrators, and communicating with parents regarding student progress and instructional programs. Minimum Job Qualifications Fluency in English Strong classroom management and student supervision skills Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds Current State of Florida teaching certification in Mathematics Preferred Job Qualifications More than two years of experience teaching mathematics Knowledge of Florida Mathematics Standards Experience implementing instructional strategies that support diverse learning needs Experience coaching or leading team sports activities preferred Essential Job duties and responsibilities Teach math and team sports courses using curriculum approved by Orlando Science High School and the State of Florida. Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards and instructional goals. Use instructional technology, models, and teacher-created materials to support student learning. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of students. Use assessment data to monitor student progress and guide instruction. Maintain an orderly, productive, and safe classroom environment. Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding assignments, progress, and classroom expectations. Maintain accurate records including attendance, grades, and progress reports. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and instructional teams to support student success. Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, school committees, and school activities. Administer classroom and standardized assessments as required. Support student growth by encouraging perseverance, critical thinking, and a positive learning environment. Supervise students during assigned duties, extracurricular activities, study halls, field trips, and other school functions as needed. Perform additional duties assigned by school administration.
