About Our School We are a mission-driven private Montessori school serving approximately 200 students. Our secondary program emphasizes adolescent development, independence, critical thinking, and real-world learning within a prepared Montessori environment. We value professionalism, collaboration, and a shared commitment to Montessori philosophy. Position Overview We are seeking a Montessori-certified Secondary Teacher to guide students ages 12-18 in a student-centered, inquiry-based learning environment. This role is ideal for an educator who understands adolescent development, values autonomy and responsibility, and is committed to Montessori best practices at the secondary level. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain a Montessori secondary learning environment Guide students in independent work, collaborative projects, and inquiry-based learning Facilitate interdisciplinary studies, seminars, and project-based work Observe, assess, and document student progress using Montessori-aligned practices Support students' executive functioning, time management, and self-regulation Foster a respectful, purposeful classroom culture Communicate effectively with families regarding student growth and progress Collaborate with colleagues and participate in professional development Required Qualifications Montessori Secondary Certification (Ages 12-18) from an accredited program Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) Experience teaching in a Florida private or independent school (Montessori experience strongly preferred) Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and adolescent development Excellent communication and organizational skills Meets all Florida private school instructional personnel requirements, including background screening and eligibility to work in Florida Florida Professional Educator Certificate or eligibility to obtain one
