Provide job-embedded professional development for teachers to support and sustain effective teaching and learning, resulting in improved student learning. Coaches help teachers advance their skills and provide teachers with feedback, challenge, and support.Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Kansas Teaching License Completed a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher Extensive knowledge of the Common Core State Standards, assessment, instruction, classroom management, instructional resources, and technology Possess interpersonal, problem solving, and organizational skills necessary to effectively facilitate coaching and professional development ESOL endorsement preferredPhysical and Emotional Requirements:
Speaking, hearing, visual, reading, writing, word processing, mobility, consistency of temperament, ability to problem solve and work in stress providing environments.Performance Responsibilities:
Classroom Observation with Feedback- The coach observes a teacher's lesson, with time provided during a scheduled post-conference to provide feedback and engage in a learning-focused dialogue (pre-conference is optional, depending on goal). Collaborative Problem Solving
- The coach meets with individual or groups of teachers (could include administrators) to plan instruction and/or solve specific instructional and assessment issues or problems (e.g., grouping of students, parent communication, appropriate use of performance assessments). Analyze Students' Work
- The coach facilitates the analysis of students' work with individuals or groups of teachers, and then brainstorms next steps for adjusting instruction. Model a Lesson (on a limited basis)
- The coach models a lesson or partial lesson for one or more teachers, with time provided after the lesson to engage in a learning-focused dialogue. Co-plan or Co-teach a Lesson
- A teacher and coach plan and/or teach a lesson together, with time provided after the lesson to engage in a learning-focused dialogue. Professional Development

9 months Certified position. Work year to be determined by the Board of Education.Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on evaluation of instructional coaching staff.
