Job Description

Summary Elliott County High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring students to excel in mathematics. This full-time position requires a creative approach to teaching and the ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students. The Math Teacher will play a crucial role in developing students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills while preparing them for future academic pursuits. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state curriculum standards and promote student learning in various mathematical concepts. Assess and evaluate student performance through regular assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their growth. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration. Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding academic performance and behavior. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and participate in faculty meetings and professional development opportunities. Stay current with developments in mathematics education and integrate technology and innovative practices into the curriculum. Supervise and mentor students during extracurricular activities, such as math clubs or competitions, to foster a love for mathematics outside the classroom. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred. Valid teaching certification in Mathematics for the appropriate grade level. Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. Experience in teaching high school mathematics preferred, with a proven track record of student success. Proficient in using educational technology and software to enhance teaching and learning. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for inspiring students to achieve their full potential in mathematics.
