Designs and delivers standards-based grade-level instruction that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of
Easthampton students.
2.Creates a classroom environment that fosters belonging, engagement, and joyful learning, aligned to the Massachusetts
Curriculum Frameworks.
3.Guides the learning process toward district curriculum goals; establishes and communicates clear objectives for all lessons,
units, and projects.
4.Welcomes students each day with consistency and care, ensuring instructional time is maximized.
5.Prepares thoughtfully for classes and demonstrates evidence of planning rigorous daily lessons.
6.Employs a variety of instructional strategies, techniques, and resources to meet the diverse needs of learners, with an emphasis
on culturally responsive and inclusive practices.
7.Models the district's philosophy of education—high expectations, equity, and inclusion—through instruction and action.
8.Assesses student progress regularly; provides meaningful feedback, progress reports, and engages families as partners in
learning.
9.Maintains accurate, complete, and timely records in accordance with law, district policy, and administrative requirements.
10.Identifies student learning challenges and collaborates with district coaches, school administrators, and colleagues to support
student growth.
11.Establishes clear classroom expectations aligned with district policies and implements those expectations fairly and consistently.
12.Collaborates with paraeducators to support the needs of all learners in the classroom.
13.Engages in continuous professional growth to meet district expectations and personal career goals.
14.Participates in the teacher evaluation process with professionalism and collaboration.
15.Attends school and district meetings to support communication, teamwork, and decision-making.
16.Participates in school and district family engagement opportunities (e.g., Back to School Night, Open House, community events)
as agreed upon with the building principal.
17.Strives to maintain and improve professional practice to enhance outcomes for all students.
18.Adheres to Easthampton Public Schools' policies and expectations regarding equity, nondiscrimination, and Title IX.
QUALIFICATIONS
1.
Academic:
Teacher, Mathematics, 9-12 DESE license required.
2.Bachelor's degree in education or related field required.
3.Master's Degree with appropriate content-area license preferred (or expected within 5 years).
4.Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum frameworks, instructional practices, and strategies to support diverse learners.
5.Commitment to equity, inclusivity, and creating a safe, supportive learning environment.
