Aug 25, 2026 Job Description Minuteman High School is seeking a qualified Biotechnology Teacher starting in the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates for this position must be licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a Chapter 74 Biotechnology Teacher or in the process of obtaining a Chapter 74 Biotechnology License. Candidates for this position will be expected to implement instruction with a strong focus on the Massachusetts Ch. 74 Biotechnology Frameworks. The candidate will be responsible for teaching topics such as, but not limited to, health and safety, basic biotechnology knowledge and skills, biomanufacturing fundamentals, solution preparation, standard operating procedures for labs, instrument and lab assays and cell technique.
Major Responsibilities:
Implement and design program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students. Guide learning toward curriculum goals by setting and clearly communicating lesson objectives to students. Ability to work as part of a team to foster a positive working relationship with students and staff. Support the learning and offering of Industry Recognized Credentials (IRC) in the program. Employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives. Regularly assess student progress and provide required reports. Maintain all records necessary for reporting student grades, hours, performance, and documentation of students using Minuteman's competency tracking system. Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis. Actively work with Program Advisory Board, local business and industries, and other industry experts for continuous program improvement. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Maintain adequate working conditions for all equipment in the classroom/shop. Attend staff or team meetings. Maintain and improve professional competence. Perform any other related task or duty assigned by the Director of Career and Technical Education.
Qualifications:
Licensed or the ability to become licensed as a Chapter 74 Biotechnology Instructor by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Candidates who are not currently licensed must have: possession of a bachelor's degree or higher related to the subject matter and skills to be taught, and three years of full-time employment experience directly related to Biotechnology. Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred. Knowledge of the Massachusetts Vocational Technical Curriculum Frameworks for Biotechnology. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
Additional Requirements:
This position includes but is not limited to: walking around the school, observing students while they work in their program areas, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.

Compensation:
Salary range is $68,494.00 - $128,195.00, in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, prorated to date of hire. Eligible for health, dental, and retirement benefits.
