Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Walpole Public Schools is seeking a Math Interventionist at Walpole Middle School, effective August 31, 2026, for the 2026-2027 school year. The Middle School Math Interventionist supports the school's MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports) process by providing targeted academic intervention and instructional support to students requiring additional assistance in mathematics. The interventionist works collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and administration to analyze student data, identify learning needs, and implement evidence-based interventions designed to improve student achievement and growth.Responsibilities Include:
Provide direct math intervention instruction to individual students and small groups based on identified skill deficits and student needs Support the implementation of the schoolwide MTSS framework through targeted Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions Utilize assessment data, progress monitoring tools, and classroom performance indicators to identify students in need of support Assist teachers and teams in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting student data to make informed instructional decisions Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, counselors, and administrators to develop and adjust intervention plans Monitor student progress regularly and maintain accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes Participate in student support meetings, MTSS meetings, and collaborative team discussions Help support the development of differentiated instructional strategies and interventions within classrooms Communicate effectively with families and staff regarding student progress and intervention supports as appropriate Position may include teaching responsibilities as part of the daily schedule Support a positive, student-centered learning environment focused on growth, engagement, and achievementQualifications Preferred:
Massachusetts certification in Mathematics and/or appropriate licensure Experience working with middle school students Strong understanding of MTSS, differentiated instruction, and data-driven decision making Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and build positive relationships with students and families Knowledge of evidence-based math intervention practices and progress monitoring tools Salary and benefits per the WTA Contract.
