Job Description

The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth has exciting summer employment opportunities for enthusiastic and knowledgeable Math Instructors in our summer programs for academically advanced students in 5th - 12th grade.
The Numbers:
From Zero to Infinity course explores numbers, from the miniscule to the unimaginably large, and students learn how they can help explain natural phenomena such as time, distance, and temperature while moving beyond traditional arithmetic. Opportunities are available for three or six weeks of employment. Positions are available at The Gilman School in Baltimore, MD. Responsibilities Supervise and engage children in various camp activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment. Implement lesson plans that incorporate educational elements, including math concepts, while promoting teamwork and creativity. Manage classroom behavior and provide support to children with special needs. Administer first aid when necessary and maintain a safe environment. Foster positive relationships with campers and their families through effective communication and support. Minimum Qualifications Have at least 2 years of independent teaching experience Bachelors degree required Advanced degree in Math Can facilitate discussion-driven and analytical classroom environments Are passionate about helping students explore complex ideas and research Terms of Employment Starting salary for each three-session ranges from $4,000 to $5,000 depending upon years of experience and education.
