Upper School Part-Time Math Teacher (60%)

Stone Ridge is seeking an Upper School Part-Time Math Teacher to begin in August 2026. Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, a member of the international Network of Sacred Heart Schools, is a Catholic, independent college preparatory school for girls, Grades 1-12, with a co-educational Early Childhood Program, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten in Bethesda, Maryland. With over 780 students, and rooted in the Goals of Sacred Heart education, Stone Ridge inspires young women to lead and serve , through lives of purpose that integrate faith, intellect, community, social action, and personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom. The Upper School Math Teacher is responsible for teaching mathematics in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education. The Upper School Math Teacher will: Teach Upper School Math classes ranging from Algebra I to Calculus. work closely with colleagues in the Math Department and throughout the Upper School. create and update plans for content, quality, and continuity of curriculum. actively collaborates with Learning Strategists, Educational Technologists, and the counseling staff to develop strategies to support all students. attend all faculty and employee meetings, participates in the Social Action Program, serves as a student Advisor, fulfills other faculty duties, and maintains good communication with families about student progress through regular progress reports and responses to parents' inquiries.

The desired candidate:

has experience in independent and/or Catholic schools. has taught high school mathematics and science and demonstrates knowledge of pedagogy and instruction as well as flexibility and strong organization skills. has familiarity with and/or experience teaching in the model of Understanding by Design . An early career candidate is encouraged to apply, especially someone with an interest in developing the pedagogy, career, and profession of education. Compensation includes competitive benefits and salary commensurate with experience, with a range from $62,000 to $95,000+.
