TITLE:
Instructional Coach - Elementary
QUALIFICATIONS
Maryland Advanced Professional License in Elementary Education 1-6; Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level; Knowledge of best practices in mathematics and reading instruction; Knowledge of effective adult learning theory and coaching strategies; Skill in time management, professional development, and administrative processes; Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and other stakeholders; Proficiency in data analysis, with a focus on curriculum and instruction; Knowledge of the Maryland College-and-Career Readiness Standards for Elementary Mathematics and Reading, culturally responsive pedagogy, and trauma-informed instruction.

JOB GOAL
The Instructional Coach implements comprehensive school-based professional learning to support teachers, and conducts small group intervention sessions for students.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans and delivers professional learning for teachers during school-level professional development sessions; Provide small group and individual intervention to identified students Assist in the implementation of high-quality instructional materials and assessments Plan, coordinate, and implement needs-based professional learning Provide school-based staff with professional learning to build teacher capacity to analyze student data, and select evidence-based reading and mathematics strategies to meet individual student needs, including strategies for teaching Multi-Lingual Learners, students receiving Special Education services, and students living in poverty Work collaboratively with teachers to determine instructional needs of students based on data analysis and informal observation Provide individual and small group coaching to teachers to include data analysis, lesson planning, lesson delivery, and reflection on best practices to increase effective instruction Model research-based instructional practices across content areas and specific to diverse learners Attend professional learning to strengthen knowledge, skills, and strategies in reading and mathematics Develop and implement family engagement events specific to literacy and mathematics Perform other duties and responsibilities related as assigned by supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Ten-month position. Salary to be established by the Board.
