Job Description

The educator shall be responsible for instruction that fosters student growth and development. The instructor may teach math courses including Math 6-8, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Precalculus. The instructor shall be responsible for documenting and reporting student progress, behavior, and attendance and communicating it effectively to appropriate stakeholders. The instructor shall be an integral part of the secondary school team and shall take part in all staff meetings and professional development offerings. The instructor shall work collaboratively with other school personnel to develop math intervention, instruction and support activities to improve math achievement for 6-12 students. Additionally, the instructor will assist in collecting, analyzing, and utilizing longitudinal math data to provide guidance and context for math programming and support efforts for all learners. The instructor shall provide instruction in other subjects as assigned and as needed per required qualifications.
REQUIREMENTS
Possess Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education. Possess Valid MI Mathematics Teacher Certification.

Mathematics (EX or EQ or Comparable) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Love of teaching and learning from students and peers. Team player willing to work cooperatively with colleagues. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills. Demonstrated classroom management skills through exceptional planning.
PREFERRED
Additional endorsements in one or more of the following: RX, CX, DX, DI, DA, DC, DE, DH, DP, MA, MC, IX, or NT Knowledge and understanding of Special Education programming in general education. Interest in athletic or academic involvement or coaching. Willingness to become a member of a close-knit school family.
