Role Summary The High School Math & PLTW Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-aligned mathematics instruction alongside specialized Project Lead The Way courses (such as Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, or Computer Science). Reporting to the Building Principal, you will facilitate a student-centered, project-based classroom environment that emphasizes collaboration, critical thinking, and the engineering design process. Why You'll Succeed (Qualifications) Certified Professional:
Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in 9-12 Mathematics required. PLTW Credentialed:
Successful completion of Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Core Training in one or more high school pathways, or an immediate willingness to attend and complete summer certification training. The Innovative Instructor:
Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience preferred, with a track record of implementing project-based learning. Educationally Prepared:
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Education, or a related STEM field required. Data-Driven Educator:
Proven ability to analyze student data to differentiate instruction, providing both intervention and acceleration as needed. Tech Savvy:
Comfort with instructional and engineering technology, including 3D modeling software (CAD), graphing utilities, and digital learning platforms. Your Impact (Key Duties) Instructional Fusion:
Design and execute engaging math and PLTW lessons that challenge students to apply algebraic, geometric, and statistical concepts to complex, open-ended engineering problems. Project-Based Facilitation:
Guide students through the engineering design process, cultivating spatial reasoning, prototyping skills, and mathematical modeling. Social-Emotional Mentorship:
Use collaborative team structures within PLTW and math labs to teach communication, resilience through trial-and-error, and peer feedback. Inclusive Rigor:
Differentiate learning paths to ensure all students, from those needing foundational support to advanced honors scholars, are appropriately challenged. Data & Assessment:
Utilize formative and summative assessments to monitor student growth, align instruction with state standards, and prepare students for PLTW End-of-Course assessments. STEM Advocacy:
