Job Description
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and the school curriculum.
- Deliver engaging and effective instructional strategies to facilitate student learning in various mathematical concepts.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support growth.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a sense of belonging.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience and promote interdisciplinary learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in mathematics education.
- Support students in developing study skills, time management, and organizational skills to succeed academically.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant documentation.
- Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a culture of respect and responsibility among students. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification in Mathematics for the appropriate grade levels.
- Proven experience in teaching mathematics at the high school level is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts, curriculum development, and instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Proficient in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A passion for mathematics and a desire to inspire students to achieve their full potential.
- Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per School Board policy.
