Job Description

Overview •Christian School - Looking for Christian Teachers!! Join our dynamic educational team as a High School Mathematics Teacher, where your passion for math and dedication to student growth will inspire the next generation of thinkers and problem-solvers. In this role, you will deliver engaging lessons that foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love for learning. You will create a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and academic excellence. Your expertise will help students develop a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and prepare them for future academic pursuits and real-world applications. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative instructional strategies and learning technology tools. Teach a variety of math subjects including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, differential equations, and molecular biology concepts as applicable to high school curricula. Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, standardized exams, and project-based evaluations; provide timely feedback to support individual learning needs. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create an engaging and respectful learning environment conducive to student success. Develop tailored tutoring sessions and supplementary materials to assist students requiring additional support or enrichment. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and integration of science topics such as biochemistry, microbiology, genetics, cell biology, and dissection techniques into math lessons where relevant. Mentor students academically and personally by providing guidance on research projects, science laboratory experiences, and college or career planning. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, lesson plans, and instructional materials; ensure compliance with school policies and standardized testing requirements. Engage with parents and guardians through conferences to discuss student progress and behavioral management strategies. Stay current with advancements in educational research, teaching methodologies, and educational technology to continually enhance instructional effectiveness. Experience Proven classroom experience teaching high school mathematics or related STEM subjects in private or public school settings. Strong background in advanced math topics including algebra, geometry, calculus (including differential equations), discrete math, trigonometry, and proof-based reasoning. Experience developing curriculum content that integrates scientific research principles such as genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and cell biology into math instruction. Familiarity with laboratory experience or research laboratory settings is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage diverse classrooms effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that supports special education needs where applicable. Skilled in using learning technology platforms for lesson planning, instructional delivery, assessment administration, and student engagement. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures along with experience in tutoring or academic advising is advantageous. Prior experience in higher education teaching or mentoring students through scientific research projects can be a plus.
