Long term subs (20+ days) must be certified and will be paid at the BA Step 0 rate ($250/day for 25-26).
Qualifications:
Meets all qualifications and behavior standards as set by the State of New Hampshire The minimum of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university A valid New Hampshire Teacher Certificate with an appropriate endorsement, or current Statement of Eligibility Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience Ability to work collaboratively to achieve the overall purposes of the school program Reports to:
Building Principal Supervises:
Classroom and Special Education Paraprofessionals assigned to his/her room
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between the FMRSD and the Fall Mountain Teachers Association, Inc.
Job Goals:
The teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for academic, artistic, athletic, and social growth. Make knowledge accessible to all students Develop students' cognitive capacity and respect for learning Foster students' academic, artistic, athletic and social skills
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Instructional Program Incorporate the New Hampshire Frameworks and Grade Level Expectations into daily and long term planning. Plan for children with different learning styles and abilities Utilize data from standardized and teacher made assessments to drive instruction Exhibit a deep and accurate understanding of subject area knowledge Utilize research based teaching strategies Work collaboratively with specialists and colleagues to plan effective instruction for all children Clearly communicate the learning objective and the importance of the learning to all students Prepare plans for substitute teachers Implement prescribed instructional programs Communicate with parents/guardians of all students as necessary Work to improve student performance and supports the district goal of improving standardized testing results by 5-7 percentage points each year Integrate technology into the curriculum for all students 2. Classroom Management Provide for adequate protection of students Maintain appropriate student records Administer testing situations according to state and local guidelines Engage parents to assist in discipline Teach effectively and with professional demeanor set high expectations for students praise academic achievement use clarity of explanation and presentation supervise group work effectively 3. Interaction Maintain an atmosphere where students feel free to participate Create an atmosphere of mutual respect Build students' self-esteem and confidence Sets an appropriate example for students in personal hygiene and appearance Demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching? 4. School Organization Assume responsibility for carrying out school/district rules and regulations Serve on at least one committee every three years Make positive suggestions for school improvement Complete paperwork and student records accurately and on time 5.
