JOB DESCRIPTION
To ensure classroom development and implementation of the STEM Magnet School Assistance Program (MSAP) Engineering the Future project
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provide school-based leadership and support for classroom implementation of STEM infused instructional practice by facilitating job-embedded professional learning, defining and supporting high quality performance, and accounting for results. Co-Designs, Implements, and evaluates effective adult learning experiences that move a vision of STEM infused instruction from theory to classroom practice: support systemic whole-school transformation as defined by the APS Magnet School Framework model exemplary classroom strategies that achieve the rigor of internationally benchmarked standards create rigorous personalized learning environments incorporate 21st Century Learning concepts foster teacher leadership systems implement Project Based Learning facilitate the development of a K-12 standards based, multidisciplinary, STEM focused PBL curriculum facilitate the analysis of qualitative and quantitative student learning data and the application of findings to improved classroom practice resulting in student learning Infuses the effective use of digital resources through instructional and professional learning. Facilitates teacher learning and classroom implementation. Participates as a member of the school Instructional Council. Works individually and with small groups of teachers to improve professional practice through coaching, planning and reflection. Provides high levels of expertise in an integrated STEM curriculum design, Project Based Learning, pedagogy and differentiated instruction. Functions as learners and leaders of collaborative communities at the school and district levels. Attends required trainings. New hires must attend a Cognitive Coaching Seminar and apply learning throughout the role. Knowledge and leadership in the field of magnet schools including regulatory issues, service delivery models, evaluation processes, development of grant application and budget/finance management. Ensures that school level data collection for MSAP grant evaluation is complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Level 3 license with endorsement in math, science, and/or technology Demonstrate extensive knowledge in cross disciplinary teaching of core academic subject matter, Project Based Learning, and in intervention programs for literacy, math and differentiated instruction the in classroom. Experience in application of Common Core State Standards in ELA/Literacy and Math, NGSS Authentic assessment of student learning.
