About Ummah Center School Ummah™ Center School (UCS) is a non-profit full-time Islamic school. We opened our doors in the fall of 2023 in Columbia Station - a small town nestled in the Southwest suburbs of Cleveland. The school is approved as a Chartered Non-Public School by the State of Ohio. We currently serve students from Prek-3 through grade 8 coming from a diverse and dynamic Muslim community. We offer small class-sizes and ample preparation time.

We are seeking an exceptional Middle School Mathematics Teacher who believes all students can achieve at high levels and is committed to cultivating mathematical thinking, problem-solving, and academic excellence. Position Summary The Middle School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction to students in Grades 6-8. The ideal candidate possesses strong content knowledge, excellent classroom management skills, and a demonstrated ability to use student data to drive achievement and growth. Core Responsibilities Instruction & Student Achievement Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction aligned to Ohio Learning Standards. Utilize data from assessments to identify learning gaps and provide targeted intervention. Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of learners. Foster mathematical reasoning, problem-solving, and critical thinking. Prepare students for advanced mathematics coursework, including Algebra I readiness. Assessment & Data Design and administer formative and summative assessments. Analyze student achievement data and adjust instruction accordingly. Maintain accurate records of grades, assessments, and student progress. Classroom Culture Establish a structured, positive, and academically focused learning environment. Implement proactive classroom management strategies. Promote student accountability, perseverance, and respectful conduct. Communication & Collaboration Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress. Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events. Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support school improvement efforts. Participate in professional development and continuous learning opportunities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field. Valid Ohio Teaching License with Mathematics certification appropriate for middle school grades. Demonstrated experience teaching mathematics. Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field. Experience teaching in a faith-based (Islamic), private, charter, and culturally responsive educational environment. Experience using student achievement data to improve outcomes. Experience preparing students for Algebra I and advanced mathematics coursework. Work Authorization Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
