POSTING #: 3494 The Sauk Rapids-Rice Public School District No. 47 is seeking a dynamic Grades 6-8 Math Instructional Coach & Interventionist to strengthen mathematics instruction and improve student outcomes across middle school grades. This hybrid role focuses on both building teacher capacity and providing targeted student support, ensuring all students develop strong conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving skills. The position emphasizes instructional practices, using evidence-based strategies to guide coaching, professional learning, and classroom implementation. A central priority is ensuring alignment between curriculum, instruction, and Minnesota academic standards across classrooms and grade levels. Primary Responsibilities:
Coach for instructional excellence Provide job-embedded coaching (co-plan, model, observe, and provide feedback) Support teachers in implementing: Clear learning goals and success criteria aligned to standards High-quality math instruction that builds conceptual understanding and procedural fluency Student discourse, reasoning, and problem-solving Ongoing monitoring of student learning Support consistent instructional practices across Grades 6-8 Support the onboarding and mentoring of new teachers in our school district Math intervention (direct student support) Provide targeted math intervention for students requiring additional support Collaborate with teachers to align intervention with core instruction Curriculum & standards alignment Ensure math instruction is tightly aligned to Minnesota Mathematics Standards Support teachers in: Maintaining rigor and coherence across grade levels Promote a guaranteed and viable curriculum across the district Use data to drive instruction Support teams in data-informed instructional practices Professional learning & collaboration Design and facilitate professional learning aligned to district literacy priorities Support implementation of MnMTSS with a strong Tier 1 foundation Outstanding candidates will have: Knowledgeable in variety of research-based interventions & instructional practices Knowledgeable in effective MTSS practices Strong collaboration, communication, and facilitation skills Thoughtful and deliberate decision-makers Creative problem solvers with extraordinary relationship skills Innovative and able to develop, promote and implement quality programs Motivating and positive with students, staff, and parents/guardians Comfortable with and able to promote the effective use of technology as a tool for teaching and learning Able to provide leadership within the school, district and community Life-long learners and good role models
Required Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota teaching license in mathematics or relevant experience and willingness to seek a license with special permission from PELSB Bachelor's Degree in relevant subject area Minimum 5-years of successful teaching experience Strong knowledge of mathematics instruction and evidence-based practices Understanding of standards alignment and data-informed instruction
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with coaching, teacher leadership, or mentoring Experience teaching middle school students
Contract:
1.0 FTE, 182 contract days plus 5 extra days for a total of 187 days beginning the 2026-2027 school year.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary based on the 2025-2027 Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Associations Master Agreement starting at $52,166 up to $97,326. Benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions.
