Instructional Support Assistant

I F I CA TIONS
: Minimum high school diploma Meets the Highly Qualified status based on the ESEA requirements. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the school instructional team with students, parents, and instructional staff Effective oral and written communication skills
REPORTS TO
Principal
J O B G O A L
To assist the teacher in providing a positive classroom environment in which students can benefit from the instructional program
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
: Prepares for and assists with classroom activities under the supervision of a highly qualified teacher. Works with students to reinforce material introduced by the teacher. Provides individual and small group instruction. Guides independent study and enrichment work assigned by the teacher. Assists students in utilizing technology. Maintains confidentiality concerning student records, data, and personal information Utilizes planning time in the classroom under the direction of the teacher. Participates in staff development programs provided by the school district as appropriate. In conjunction with the teacher, plans, prepares, and develops individual and small group lessons. Monitors and reports student progress. Performs other duties as directed.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
: 185 days (if employed for full contract calendar). Salary is to be determined by the salary s chedule established by the Board. (Teaching Assistants Salary Schedule)
EVALUATION
: The performance of the job will be evaluated annually by the Principal.
