Afterschool Math Instructor Pacioretty Academics Dallas, TX Job Details Part-time $20 - $50 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid training Qualifications English Math Working with children Bachelor's degree Organizational skills Algebra Video conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Tutor to provide academic support to students in middle and high school math. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the curriculum and be able to engage with their students. This role is a great opportunity for professionals with a math background who wish to support the younger generation. It requires a passion for education and a commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals. Duties Provide instruction in subjects such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calc, Calculus Foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages student participation and confidence. Implement lesson plans in a one-on-one environment. Maintaining session notes and keeping time records up to date. Write a follow-up email to the parents after each session. Work directly with a mentor through the training program to learn the methodology and properly implement the lesson plans. Attendance, punctuality, and willingness to learn are essential to the successful performance of this job.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience:
2+ years working with children/students Prior teaching experience is a plus, but is not necessary for this position due to the training.
Technological experience using:
Zoom, Microsoft suite, Google Docs Personal Qualities Strong communication skills Communicate with students in a professional, calm, and supportive manner and serve as a student advocate. Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues. Strong time management and organizational skills. Must also be punctual and reliable Work as an effective team member with other faculty and non-teaching staff. Highly trainable Willing to follow a structured coaching program in the exact manner as they are trained Possess a growth mindset Compensation $40-$50 an hour after completion of training Paid training ($20/hr)
Schedule:
Part-time A minimum of two set days a week (Monday - Thursday) Minimum of six hours a week. This is NOT seasonal employment
Work Setting:
