Yesterday Job Description Primary Purpose Provide specialized instruction and support for students receiving special education services in math. Collaborate with general education teachers, interventionists, administrators, and families to ensure students are making academic progress while accessing grade-level curriculum and meeting individual IEP goals. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university Valid Texas Teaching Certificate or enrolled in an alternative certification program Special Education Certification preferred ESL certification preferred Strong knowledge of 5th grade math TEKS, accommodations, modifications, and intervention strategies Experience working with students with diverse learning and behavioral needs preferred Major Responsibilities and Duties Instruction & Student Support Provide direct instruction in small-group and resource settings for students receiving special education services in math Implement accommodations and modifications outlined in student IEPs Utilize data to plan targeted instruction and interventions focused on student growth and mastery of TEKS Collaborate with classroom teachers to support inclusion practices and student success in the general education setting Progress monitor student goals and maintain accurate documentation of student performance Assist with STAAR preparation and implementation of testing accommodations Collaboration & Communication Participate in ARD meetings, PLCs, MTSS discussions, and campus collaboration meetings Maintain positive communication with parents regarding student progress and needs Work closely with instructional staff to ensure alignment between resource instruction and classroom expectations Support campus initiatives and contribute to a positive team-oriented culture Classroom Environment & Management Establish and maintain a structured, supportive, and student-centered learning environment Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote student engagement and success Build positive relationships with students while maintaining high expectations academically and behaviorally Compliance & Professional Responsibilities Maintain confidentiality and comply with all federal, state, and district special education requirements Complete required paperwork, progress reports, and documentation in a timely manner Attend required trainings and participate in ongoing professional development Follow district and campus procedures, policies, and expectations Skills Strong instructional and organizational skills Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction accordingly Effective communication and collaboration skills Ability to build relationships with students, staff, and families Flexible, positive, and solution-oriented mindset Working Conditions Maintain emotional control under stress Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of instructional materials Ability to work in a fast-paced school environment while managing multiple responsibilities
