Immediately Job Description Math Teacher - Residential School (Grades 6-12) Vermont Permanency Initiative (New England School for Girls) Southern Vermont | Bennington Area The Vermont Permanency Initiative (VPI), part of the New England School for Girls, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Math Teacher to join our collaborative education team. VPI is a grades 6-12 residential school committed to providing high‑quality, individualized education to students in a supportive, structured environment. Position Overview The Math Teacher provides general education instruction and works closely with special education staff and related service providers to plan, instruct, and support student learning. This role is ideal for an educator who is enthusiastic, student‑centered, and committed to helping all students achieve high academic standards. What You'll Do Deliver engaging math instruction across multiple content areas Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including special education staff Align instruction with Common Core Standards, Vermont Proficiency‑Based Graduation Requirements, and 21st Century learning skills Use best practices in mathematics instruction to support diverse learners Establish and maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and positive student behavior Support students academically and socially in a residential school setting What We're Looking For Our ideal candidate: Demonstrates strong content knowledge in mathematics Understands proficiency‑based learning and differentiated instruction Is enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to educating all students Believes in building positive, respectful relationships with students Thrives in a team‑based, mission‑driven environment Requirements Bachelor's degree in a math‑related field Eligible for a Vermont Teaching License (or ability to obtain) Must be at least 21 years of age Why Bennington, VT?
