Immediately Job Description Windham Northeast is seeking a Math Coach to support our teachers and administrators in district-wide mathematics initiatives. This is an opportunity to work with a creative, supportive, and motivated team to empower our students to become flexible, capable, and skilled mathematicians. In this role, the Math Coach will support the coordination and implementation of the mathematics curriculum. They will partner with teachers and administrators to support ongoing, embedded professional learning with a focus on the implementation of inclusive, evidence-based practices. The coach will also facilitate instructional team collaboration aiming to strengthen and align instructional practices across tiers of instruction.
Summary:
Windham Northeast is seeking a Math Coach to support our teachers and administrators in district-wide mathematics initiatives. In this role, the Math Coach will support the coordination and implementation of the mathematics curriculum. They will partner with teachers and administrators to support ongoing, embedded professional learning with a focus on the implementation of inclusive, evidence-based practices. The coach will also facilitate instructional team collaboration aiming to strengthen and align instructional practices across tiers of instruction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work directly with teachers to:
  • Support the implementation of evidence-based instructional practices in mathematics
  • Review and evaluate assessment results and support the implementation of appropriate instructional modifications
  • Provide flexible, needs-based support to guide learning (modeling, co-teaching, residencies, co-planning, observing, etc.)
  • Utilize technology for delivering, assessing, and transforming the teaching and learning of mathematics.
  • Facilitate student-centered instructional coaching cycles
  • Facilitate professional learning communities with a focus on collaborative reflection
  • Assist teachers in the implementation of an MTSS system utilizing data-based decision-making
  • Maintain knowledge of current research within the field of mathematics. Work the administrative team:
  • Support the implementation of a comprehensive mathematics curriculum for all schools including: programmatic implementation, scope and sequence documents, pacing guides, balanced assessments etc.
  • Support coordination of district-wide MTSS model for mathematics instruction.
  • Assist with the refinement of district benchmark assessments for mathematics.
  • Assist with the development and facilitation of district and school-based professional learning for administrators and teachers.
  • Prepare data-related reports for staff and school board.
  • Support coordination of instructional material purchases
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Holds a Vermont Teaching License
  • Advanced degree or coursework in Mathematics Education
  • Five (5) years of successful classroom experience in grades K-12
  • Data analysis and interpretation skills
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, students, parents, and the community
PREFERRED
  • Experience with Illustrative Mathematics
  • Coaching and facilitation experience
  • Experience as an interventionist
