Building PrincipalII. SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
This position focuses on planning, delivering, and assessing middle school (grades 6-8) math instruction aligned with district standards, while also supporting students' overall academic, personal, and social development to help them become responsible, well-adjusted, and productive individuals.III. RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions 1. Teaching mathematics to students at assigned grade levels, using a variety of elementary and/or secondary settings. 2. Planning for student success based on assessed needs, using data to determine current knowledge and skill levels, setting learning goals, and monitoring progress. 3. Communicates clearly in working with diverse student populations, both orally and in writing. 4. Develops lesson plans and manages the learning experiences, curricular and extra-curricular to ensure the needs of the middle school group and individual students are met. 5. Evaluates student performance and provides guidance which will promote the student's welfare, educational development, and citizenship. 6. Participates in the planning and evaluation of the middle school program(s) and the curriculum and program development. 7. Maintains the necessary current records and reports and utilizes data to modify and improve program effectiveness. 8. Assist with development and implementation of student advisory programs at the middle school. 9. Refers students with special needs to appropriate staff for additional educational assistance, in accordance with requirements of Public Law 94-142. 10. Regularly communicates with parents and/or guardians through conferences and other means to discuss student progress. 11. Effectively utilizes resources and services of the community and the school (s) to enhance students' learning and teacher's effectiveness. 12. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school(s), and self-selected professional growth activities. 13. Participates in curriculum development programs as required. 14. Works effectively with Para-educators and other staff members. 15. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Demonstrate commitment to the teaching profession and its code of ethics. 2. Knowledge and skill in organizing the physical and human elements in the educational setting. 3. Ability to work with and relate to Native American children and serve as a positive role model. 4. Ability to organize facts and present them in a clear, concise and logical manner, both orally and in written form. 5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. 6. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of confidentiality and the ability to maintain it. 7. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. 8. Considerable knowledge of the techniques used in providing teaching instruction to Native American students. The essential functions listed above are not exhaustive and may be supplemented as necessary. The position may perform a variety of non-essential functions consistent with the scope and intent of the position. This position is contingent upon availability of school funds.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1.
Bachelors Degree in Education 2. Endorsements in Math & Science 3. Endorsement in K-8 Certification 4.Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate:
K-8 or 4-12 with appropriate endorsement(s) 5. Strong and well-balanced academic background 6. Highly QualifiedV. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 1.
One year teaching experience working as a full-time certificated employee at the intermediate level (4th - 6th) or middle school (6th - 8th level) 2. Master's degree 3. Endorsements in Math and Science 4. Experience in teaching diverse student populations 5.
