Job Description
We are looking for someone who can support 4 kids in their homeschool journey. The kids are aged 7, 9, 11 and 13. We would like someone who feels comfortable working with all 4 kids both as a group and individually in their academic needs. The kids need support mostly in Math, Reading, and Writing with some science and history support. There would be 3 hours of more formal instruction and academic support daily. This would be a combination of working with the students as a group on one topic, but having differentiated activities for each student. The older students work well independently while the younger students do need more support and attention. The rest of the day, the students will be free to play, explore, and follow their curiosity. We're looking for someone who can follow their curiosity and create educational activities along the way. This person would ideally follow an inquiry based or project based approach to their learning. Additionally, we need someone who has extensive experience interacting and working with kids in some capacity. This person should be stern, be able to handle conflict and set boundaries while also fostering a supportive learning environment for the children.
Working hours:
Full time: Mon-Fri approx 9am-3/5pmRequirements:
- Experience working with children either as a teacher, mentor, or parent
- Feels comfortable supporting all 4 kids in each core subject area
- Has a reliable vehicle or form of transportation
- Can track students progress through formative and summative assessments
- Willing to complete a background check
