Job Summary This position is responsible for creating, evaluating,and delivering quality instructional materials to Georgia Highlands College (GHC) students. The position is required to adhere to theTeaching section of the Expectations of the Teaching Faculty . Responsibilities Is responsible to understand,support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accreditingbodies. Teach a full load of 18 credit hours in both fall and spring terms Regularly review and update course-relatedmaterial including a course syllabus containing all required information Provide a digital copy of the course syllabus and courseobjectives to all students no later than the first day of term. The course syllabus should be available to students in D2L. Throughthe syllabus and other published course materials, inform students regarding the methods and criteria that will be used for studentassessment, and ensure that the assessment aligns with the Student Learning Outcomes published in the syllabus Objectively assessstudent work and be willing to correct any errors in the assessments or in the grading of the assessments, and return student assignments ina timely fashion, regularly providing useful feedback to students throughout the course Model effective oral and writtencommunication Prepare effectively for each class session, presenting material in a relevant and organized manner while displayingknowledge and enthusiasm for the subject matter Follow established best practices in designing, implementing, and teaching allcourses Participate in advising and new student orientations as required Incorporate conversations about academic success,career goals, and graduation into student interactions Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in discipline Proposed Salary $45,000annually Required Documents to Attach Resume Cover Letter Knowledge, Skills, &Abilities Knowledge of academic requirements and discipline Skills with instructional technology Skill in oraland written communication Organizational skills to keep accurate and timely records Contact Information Formore information or questions about a job posting, please contact Human Resources by email at jobs@highlands.edu For technical support, please contact the Shared Services Center at (877) 251-2644 or oneusgsupport@usg.edu USG Core Values The University System of Georgia is comprised of our 26 institutions ofhigher education and learning as well as the System Office.
