Job Description:
This pooled position is designated for current high school faculty members who have been preliminarily approved to teach Oakton College courses within their respective high schools.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Oakton College department chairs and the Early College Office to ensure academic integrity. Align high school course curricula with Oakton College course objectives and student learning outcomes; submit course syllabi for departmental review as required. Deliver college-level instruction in your approved discipline (e.g., English, Mathematics, CTE, Sciences, Social Sciences, etc.) at your high school of employment. Contribute to program evaluation initiatives and course-level student assessment activities as needed to maintain institutional accreditation and instructional quality. Maintain accurate records of student attendance and academic performance by submitting grade reports in Oakton systems when needed. Engage in professional development opportunities as necessary from the department.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
1. Vary by designated course program. 2. Qualifications require the same education/experience criteria as on-campus faculty. 3. Must be employed and licensed by the designated high school partner.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience teaching at the post-secondary level. A Doctoral degree in the field.
