Normal, IL Job Summary Serves as an academic advisor for undergraduate Mathematics majors for all sequences; helps resolve registration issues for students in all mathematics courses; assists with department recruitment and retention efforts. Within the bachelor's program we have majors in Pure and Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, and Mathematics Teacher Education, a few legacy majors in Data Science and Computational Mathematics, as well as minors in mathematics. There is also a large General Education commitment, serving students from all over campus. The advisor is expected to liaise with other advisors on campus and facilitate the transition from Pure and Applied mathematics to the Accelerated Sequence for students accepted into the 5-year BS/MS program. Salary Rate / Pay Rate $45,000

• 48,500 Required Qualifications 1.

Bachelor's degree in a closely related field 2. Excellent oral and written communication skills. 3. Ability to make effective public presentations 4. Excellent interpersonal skills including listening, communication, and teamwork. 5. Ability to multi-task and produce quality work under deadlines. 6. Strong organizational skills. 7. Ability to work with diverse population of students, peers, and the public. 8. Working knowledge of basic office software and advising systems (word processing, e-mail systems, spreadsheets, databases, student information systems, etc.) 9. Evidence of a positive professional demeanor that contributes to a positive and fulfilling work environment. 10. Evidence of understanding of the issues facing today's college students as it impacts their academic careers. 11. Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. 2. Previous teaching experience. Work Hours 8:00 am

• 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with Occasional evening or weekend work.

Functional Expectations Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation: 1. Remain at a workstation for extended periods 2.
