Job Description:
Metro State University, a member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System, is seeking to hire a community (adjunct) faculty of the following 4-credit courses being offered in the
Department of Computer Science and Cybersecurity:

Description of College:
The College of Sciences consists of three academic departments (Computer Science and Cybersecurity, Natural Science, and Mathematics and Statistics) that are comprised of 34 full-time faculty members, and an additional 40 FTE of part-time teaching by part-time faculty members. The college also includes 5.8 FTE of full-time staff who provide operational and laboratory support for the academic programs. There are 14 bachelor degree programs, 3 graduate degree programs, and numerous minors and certificates offered by the College of Sciences which accounted for 23% of the university's credits enrolled during the 2024-2025 academic year. Responsibilities:
Community (Adjunct) Faculty members are expected to: Demonstrate a commitment to serving a diverse student body by delivering a student-centered education and using approaches that support equitable outcomes for all students. Provide excellent learning environments through in-person, online, and/or hybrid course modalities.
Minimum Qualifications:
All faculty teaching undergraduate courses must meet one of the following minimum qualifications: A Master's degree, or terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D, M.D.) in discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach. A Master's degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) with A Master's degree, or terminal degree (e.g., Ph. D., M.D.) in discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach. A Master's degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D) with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach. A Master's degree, terminal degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) with expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach. A Bachelor's degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach, and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework or an equivalent amount of professional certification in the discipline or subfield in which they teach. A Bachelor's degree (e.g., B.A., B.S., B.S.N., B.F.A.) in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach; and at least 2 years of work experience directly related to the discipline, subfield or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach or 1 year of work experience and discipline-specific certification. expertise in a different discipline or subfield in which they teach and at least 18 semester hour credits of graduate coursework in the discipline, subfield, or related interdisciplinary field in which they teach.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching college-level undergraduate biology courses Ability to learn to use a learning management system (Brightspace D2L) for course information, assignments, and grades. Experience with curriculum development and professional development participation. Demonstrated ability to work with multilingual and adult learners in general education biology courses.

Salary:
$1,844 to $1,888 per credit taught
