Reporting to a dean or vice president, they design and implement engaging courses to support student achievement from recruitment through graduation, fostering economic mobility and community transformation. They evaluate student learning through meaningful assessments, participate in curriculum development, mentor students, and connect them with support services. Additionally, adjunct faculty engage in institutional service, professional development, and maintain accurate records, all in alignment with college policies and mission.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Masters Degree or higher with 18 graduate hours in an academic area for College Transfer Success. •
Note:
Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Department of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC. Available to teach in-person during the day on the main campus.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred:
Two (2) academic years of teaching experience at the high school or college level. Experience teaching at a community college. Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Teach courses on the main campus during the day to Early College High School students. Assume responsibility for teaching assignments as designated by the department chairperson and approved by the dean. Be available via traditional or electronic means for assistance, for responding to questions, or otherwise assisting the students in a timely manner as outlined by the department chairperson and dean. Responsible for grading assignments in a timely manner and posting grades in the Learning Management System. Assume responsibility for maintaining all required College records, including attendance, grade posting, etc. Make recommendations to the Department Chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs. Remain current on methods of teaching with technology and incorporate instructional technologies to augment instructional delivery and facilitate learning. Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College, including College-required training. Use the College Learning Management System to deliver online instruction, enhance on-campus instruction in all classes, and post the course syllabus and other handouts. Follow the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) privacy requirements when disseminating student information. Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with others in a collegial environment. Model an understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy and mission. Perform other duties as assigned and other related duties incident to the work described herein. Physical Demands
