Job Description

About New Mexico Military Institute:
The New Mexico Military Institute (NMMI) is a state-supported, coeducationalinstitution offering college-preparatory education at the high school and junior college levels. With a student body of up to 1,000 cadets,NMMI offers a comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high schoolcurriculum is fully accredited and prepares students for higher education. The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer tofour-year colleges and universities. Additionally, NMMI houses the Intermediate Preparatory Academy (IPA) for grades 6-8. The IPA delivers adistinctive curriculum emphasizing immersive, intensive, hands-on learning in a structured environment.
Position :
NMMI is seeking a tenure-track Mathematics faculty to teach high school and/or junior college mathematics.

Provide high-quality instruction in mathematics at both the secondary (high school) and postsecondary (junior college) levels in support ofNew Mexico Military Institute's dual-mission academic program. Faculty members are responsible for fostering mathematical understanding,critical thinking, and effective communication skills while supporting cadet academic success within a structured military environment and aliberal arts educational framework. This is an except 9-month, full-time position. The Salary is based on experience and education level.

Tasks:
Teach High School & College courses in the academicdiscipline(s) of Mathematics within the Mathematics Department. Prepare course syllabi in the provided format used in thedepartment. Prepare instructions according to the approved course syllabi. Report cadet absences and tardiness perpolicy on attendance takers. Compute grades in compliance with approved course syllabi. Report student grades eachsemester at specified intervals on the Grade Report form supplied by the registrar, i.e., at nine weeks and the end of the semester. Updategrades regularly on Canvas. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
Individuals must, inaddition to knowledge, skills, and abilities, possess the necessary physical capacity to perform the essential functions of the job asdefined in this document. Factual familiarity with the subject matter in teaching areas. Factual familiarity withlearning skills in teaching areas. Be familiar with and abide by regulations established in the Faculty Handbook, NMMIOperations, and Procedure Manual. Be familiar with the Corps of Cadets Manual (Blue Book). Visual ability should be corrected ifnecessary to enable the faculty to perform the required duties and tasks. Ability to learn and perform all essential jobfunctions accurately with minimal direct supervision.
Qualifications:
Required:
Faculty in general must possess a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution, preferably with an initial contract or, inexceptional cases, within five years. Faculty who will teach college courses must possess a master's degree from a regionallyaccredited institution in their teaching field OR a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution with at least eighteen graduatehours in their teaching field.
