POSITION SPECIFICS
Teaching Positions in Mathematics or Statistics Penn State Altoona invites applications for one or more full-time, Non-Tenure-Line Instructor or Open Rank Teaching Professor positions in Mathematics or Statistics. This position is a 12-month, 36-week, non-tenure track appointment for fall and spring semesters beginning Fall 2026. The initial appointments are for one year with a possibility of continuance.Qualifications and Teaching Responsibilities:
Primary duties include teaching mathematics and statistics courses as needed by the department. Candidates must possess a minimum of an M.S. or Ph.D. in either Mathematics or Statistics. Qualified candidates in all areas of mathematics and statistics will be considered.Other Responsibilities:
Engage in scholarly activities to stay current in the discipline; participate in curriculum and course assessment, undergraduate academic advising, and perform academic reviews; participate in campus, university, and professional service activities, and outreach to the community. Interested candidates must submit an online application at Penn State's Job Posting Board, and should submit a letter of application establishing their qualifications, a current curriculum vitae, a description of teaching philosophy and evidence of teaching effectiveness, transcripts (official transcripts required at the time of an interview), and at least three letters of reference.
