Job Description
We are looking for experienced teachers to create a strong, exciting, developmentally appropriate program for children ages 4K-12, including those affected by trauma. Part-time and full-time positions are available. The Open Door Network is recruiting experienced childcare providers who are passionate about making a positive impact in our community, including those affected by trauma. We need resilient, creative, hardworking individuals who are motivated to change the life of a child. We are the only childcare center in California operating at a homeless shelter and we need special teachers to meet the needs of our amazing children. Under the direct supervision of the Site Supervisor, the teaching team will be responsible for lesson plans and daily activities that support children's cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional growth. Key duties include maintaining clear documentation; conducting assessments; ensuring a safe and developmentally appropriate environment; and being a positive role model. Requirements /
Qualifications Education:
Valid Teacher permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing and child development that must include, at a minimum, the following units: 24 ECE/CD units with core courses, 12 school age units, and 2 adult supervision units.Experience:
Two years' experience as a teacher in a state or federally funded childcare program with preschool children. Experience with Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP).Required Documents:
Valid Child Development Permit with at least 24 units in ECE/CD, including core classes and school age units.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
A pre-placement medical assessment/health and drug screening is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. This position is required to lift 50 pounds. LiveScan Fingerprint clearance is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within four (4) weeks of hire. Please have your credentialing documents (I.E. your transcript's, Commission on Teacher Credentialing Permits, CPR/first aid card, and mandated reporter) ready to submit along with your resume .Pay:
