School Year Job Summary:
Afterschool University (AU) is an afterschool enrichment program for children ranging from TK/kindergarten to fifth grade. AU teachers are responsible for helping children with project-based learning, creative activities, homework and reading support. On an average day, teachers pick up from students from school, engage in outdoor play, plan for lessons/activities and have fun with afterschool attendees. Candidates should be passionate about working with children and demonstrate a positive, fun attitude towards teaching. We do not required any teaching credentials. Starting at $20/hr and above, dependent on experience.

Ongoing Multiple Shifts Available:
1. Mondays-Fridays 1:00pm
  • 6:15pm (5 Days) +once a week 6:00pm
  • 6:45pm 2. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays 1:00pm
  • 6:15pm (3 Days) +once a week 6:00pm
  • 6:45pm 3. Substitute (M-F) 1:00pm
  • 6:15pm (On Call) +once a week 6:00pm
  • 6:45pm
Role Responsibilities:
Form trusting, supportive relationships with children ranging from TK/kindergarten to fifth grade. Develop and execute
S.T.E.A.M.
curriculum for small and large groups. Create an inclusive classroom environment by applying different techniques for learning styles. Implement social-emotional curriculum by teaching positive attitudes, behaviors, and language. Provide homework and reading support. Work and communicate effectively with other teachers.
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
  • Experience working with children (TK/K-5th).
Strong classroom management skills, ability to supervise a large group of kids indoors/outdoors. Passionate about working with children. Punctuality, creativity, enthusiasm, patience. College degree preferred (accepting current college students), or equivalent experience.
