In this role, you will foster a love for reading, including Shakespeare, writing, storytelling, and critical thinking while cultivating an engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and academic excellence. The ideal candidate is experienced working with middle-school-aged students, demonstrates strong classroom management skills, and brings energy, flexibility, and passion to the classroom. We are especially interested in educators who are familiar with Reggio Emilia and/or Waldorf-inspired teaching practices, incorporate living history into their curriculum, and value hands-on, project-based learning experiences that actively engage students.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach integrated Middle School ELA and History curriculum Foster strong literacy, writing, and analytical thinking skills Create engaging lessons through living history, project-based learning, and experiential education Encourage creativity through poetry, creative writing, discussion, and storytelling Cultivate a supportive and classroom culture Guide students in developing confidence, curiosity, and independence Collaborate with fellow educators and contribute to curriculum development

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

Experience teaching middle school students; prefer minimum of 3 years experience Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a respectful, engaging learning environment Familiarity with Reggio Emilia and/or Waldorf-inspired educational approaches Familiarity with living history approaches and hands-on/project-based learning Strong background in creative writing, literature, and poetry Ability to make history engaging, immersive, and relevant Excellent communication and collaboration skills Knowledge or experience in publishing books, student publications, or writing programs is a strong bonus This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives while utilizing innovative teaching methods and creative curriculum strategies.
